Di Majo Norante Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2010

SKU MAJ-001
Molise, Italy's newest region and one of the smallest, is located on the Adriatic coast. Molise was formed in 1963, and it has long been part of Abruzzo e Molise. The region produces a few great olive oils in the mountainous terrain. This oil is produced at the estate, Di Majo Norante in the area of Campobasso.

This lovely oil is a monocultivar of Gentile di Chiete olives. Gentile di Chiete is a variety of olive that has been cultivated in this area since Roman times. It has evolved into a fruit that strikes a delicate balance between flavor and aroma. Golden green, slightly fruity with hints of dried grass and a gentle olive flavor. Well-structured and balanced with a typical marked touch of almonds.

An excellent oil to use straight from the bottle to dress fish, salads, roasts and boiled vegetables, or to be added to soups. It is also ideal for cooking and especially frying, maintaining its texture and flavor.

The Di Majo Norante winery is located on the estate of the Marquis Norante of Santa Cristina in the region of Molise, along on the Adriatic Sea between Puglia and Abruzzo. The cultivation of vines in this area dates back to 500 BC when the region was inhabited by the Sanniti and the Osci, two pre-Roman civilizations. The estate has been in operation since the 1800s. In the 1960s a modern cantina was constructed.
