Fattoria di Monti Moraiolo Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2013
The oils from Fattoria di Monti are a real discovery! Dense and clear, between golden yellow and sparkling green in hue. This is Vicky's Moraiolo selection. This oil has fruit scent of olives of medium-strong intensity, reminiscent of green tomatoes, green olives, artichoke and an herbal scent. It has a very light spicy sensation. Enjoy it simply with good bread from a wood-fired oven, or by itself in a small, round-bowled glass to appreciate its colour, clarity, intensity, and lingering flavours. Suitable for long-term storage if stored at constant temperature, away from light and heat sources.
From land that once was the home of a Medici family farm, and the 22 acres of olive groves date to that time. The Mediterranean breeze reaches the well-spaced olive trees through the gentle hills and open valleys, providing perfect conditions for splendid oil, with each olive varietal harvested at the optimum time.

Moraiolo olive oil comes to us from Fattoria di Monti in the province of Ghizzano di Peccioli, near Pisa, in the hills near Volterra. This oil has been recommended by Tom Mueller, author of Extravirginity on his Great Olive Oils of the World page.
