A gift selection featuring three regions of Italy, from North to South. The Tour of Italy gift selection includes Vittorio Cassini Classico, a Ligurian Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Taggiasca olives; Frantoio di Sommaia produced in Calenzano, just north of Florence; and Titone Biologica Organic DOP Extra Virgin Oil from the Trapani area of Sicily.
Vittorio Cassini Classico (500 ml.) is a top extra virgin olive oil from Liguria. Crafted from Taggiasca olives, it is light and delicate. It has a nice taste with almond overtones. This Ligurian oil is great with fish, fresh vegetables, and salads.
The famous Frantoio di Sommaia (750 ml.) is produced by N.H. Martini-Bernardi in Calenzano, just north of Florence. The Martini-Bernardi family has produced oils since the 19th century. The olive oil is a cold-pressed, low acidity oil. The olives are selected from estates in the hills around Calenzano. You’ll find the oil to be green, assertive, and full-bodied with a lingering pepper finish.
Titone (500 ml.) from Sicily is a "Biologica" oil. The Titone "Valli Trapanesi" is a filtered organic extra virgin olive oil from the area near Trapani, on the Western side of Sicily. Valli Trapanesi grows and harvest olives within a D.O.P. designated area. The flavorful oil has the taste and aroma typical of the Valli Trapanesi oils.
This gift set is packaged in an attractive gold box with an informative brochure describing the attributes of the oils.
