Umbrian Spice Blend brings forth the flavors of Umbria with this zesty blend. It is a bit more "piccante" than Umbrian Roasting Blend.
Umbrian food is familiar as the cooking is based on family traditions and fresh, natural flavors. Pasta, truffles, roasted meats and poultry, are hallmarks of the region’s cuisine.
This blend of spices is typical to Umbrian regional Italian cooking. Seasonally harvested herbs are combined with Sicilian sea salt to create the everlasting flavors of the Mediterranean. Use as a condiment for raw or cooked foods. Try a splash on cooked vegetables, beans or rice to infuse a distinctive Mediterranean flavor. Excellent for roasted meats or as a pasta sauce. Warm a couple of teaspoons of spices with olive oil to create a flavorful pasta sauce.
We’ve tried this to season dipping oil, to add flavor to stuffed artichokes, and to season roast chicken. It's great on roasted potatoes.
