Villa Magra Gran Cru, Frantoio Franci, 2008

SKU FRA-022
This selection from Franci is the best of the line - from the hills of Montenero d'Orcia at an altitude of 350-450 meters, hand-picked in October. The olives used are Correggiolo and Moraiolo for a fresh herbaceous scent, with overtones of artichoke, almonds, and flowers. Some are able to detect hints of cherry.

The flavor is bold, spicy, and complex. Excellent with vegetables, meats, and fish. This works well with full-flavored foods and simply with pastas.

Frantoio Franci grows the olives for VMGC with a goal of producing the highest health benefits, measured as hydroxytyrosol and polyphenols.

Villa Magra Gran Cru has won several Slow Food Awards.

This selection makes a very impressive gift. Add to it with Charles Quest-Ritson's Olive Oil book in our Books category. Frantoio Franci is listed in the book.
