Olive oils from Veneto are rare and we are thrilled to be able to offer Allegrini Corte Giara. Guiliano and Marilisa Allegrini are best known as producers of noble red wine. Their estate is based in Fumane di Valpolicella, just north of Verona in northeastern Italy. Allegrini olive oil possesses a hue of golden yellow with green reflections. As northern oil it is somewhat delicate and fragrant with a light almond finish.
The olives are harvested in November and December by hand or with rakes and brought to the mill on the same day; they are then stone ground and cold pressed, which helps the olives maintain their natural flavors.
Allegrini is well known for their extraordinary wines and grappas, and thus the ancient character of their oil. Their products are crafted with an attention to the finest details, from the plants to the fruit, to bottling.
Corte Giara Olive Oil is a traditional extra virgin olive oil with a mild yet “classic” olive oil taste, excellent oil with many uses, from salad dressings to pasta sauces.
