 This selection is only available through Olio2go: the notable Villa Magra Gran Cru, the intenso Moraiolo Cru, and select grove Olivastro Rose Grand Cru Seggianese monocultivar.

Villa Magra Gran Cru is the best of the line - from the hills of Montenero d'Orcia at an altitude of 350-450 meters, hand-picked in October. A monocultivar of Frantoio olives with a fresh herbaceous scent, with overtones of artichoke, almonds, and flowers. Some are able to detect hints of cherry.

The flavor is bold, spicy, and complex. Excellent with vegetables, meats, and fish. This works well with full-flavored foods and simply with pastas.

Moraiolo is decisive and enveloping, with penetrating herbaceous elements and rich notes of artichoke, chicory and almond. Gently inhale the great complexity of vegetable scents and a long persistence of soft aromatic notes.

 Moraiolo is perfect on octopus carpaccio appetizers, a variety of fish, porcini mushrooms, lentils, beans, chickpeas and vegetable soups in general; on red meats or first courses of ragù or tomato; in combination with goat cheese and stronger greens.

Olivastra Rose, also known as Rose Grand Cru, is an exclusive selection of olives, of the Olivastra Seggianese variety, all from a single grove of centuries-old trees. This very small production is notable for the wafting aroma of floral notes of rose petals. It is exquisite on oysters. We also like it on mild warm beans, allowing the aromas and flavors to entice. 

Delicate: This new selection from Giorgio Franci is perfect for the foodie seeking an expressive, yet delicate, extra virgin olive oil. It possesses all of the flavor Giorgio masterfully coaxes from the olives, but does so far more gently than the typical Tuscan.

The Frantoio, Moraiolo, and Leccino olives are hand-picked in the latter part of October, and the first week of November from groves in Colline di Montenero d’Orcia, Montalcino, and Val D’Orcia.

The golden-yellow oil has greenish tones, and the aroma is fine and harmonious with notes of artichokes, herbs, and almonds. The broad taste will greet you with celery, artichoke and thistle before closing with sweet almond.

Idea for raw use on all fish based preparations such as hors d’oeuvres, carpaccio, mixed seafood salad – or marinated, baked or grilled fish. This is also recommend for soups, delicate mushrooms, soft cheeses and is ideal for mayonnaise.
