This gift box contains a bag of Moretti Semola/Semolina, Ravida Sea Salt, Fonte di Foiano IGP Toscano Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Frantoi Cutrera’s Segreti di Sicilia Sugo Pronto (in Retro bottle) and a bench scraper (aka dough scraper).

The IGP Toscano from Fonte di Foiano is a fabulous bottling. There’s no mistaking this fine olive oil and it will seriously enhance this pasta dish. Further, we’ll include instructions on how to use the codes on the bottle to search the Toscano consortium site, for traceability.

With one exception, all items were produced in Italy. The exception? The dough scraper was made in the US and we like this because it is gentle to your Italian marble counters.

We’ll include the recipe for the pasta dough. You’ll need 20-30 minutes to make the dough by hand. And then allow the dough to rest 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Roll out the pasta, and voilà, slice and prepare to drop it in boiling water.

When the pasta rises to the surface, scoop a cup of pasta water, drain the pasta gently, and toss it back in the pan, adding the sauce. Stir in the reserved pasta water as needed to help the emulsification of the sauce and pasta. That sauce water helps to bring it all together.

Be sure to mix the pasta and sauce for at least one to two minutes for best flavor. When plating the pasta, be sure to add a generous drizzle of olive oil as a divine finish.
