Planeta extra virgin olive oil comes from the area of western Sicily. This is gift boxed and that makes it an easy gift!
Previously, produced only for family, Planeta has been bottled for sale for just over 20 years. They’ve made great strides and certainly produce a top-quality unfiltered extra virgin olive oil, with both IGP certification and notable awards.
The family grove, Capparrina, is situated on fertile land by the sea near Menfi, in the province of Agrigento. At the estate, they grow Nocellara del Belice, Cerasuola, and Biancollila olives.
This is the Nocellara monocultivar selection. We found it to be delicate and sweet with notes of herbs, almond, and white pepper.
Recommended pairings include tomatoes and mixed salads, grilled vegetables, firm cheeses, and light, fresh pasta preparations. Lovely with pasta and ricotta.
