Ravida "Old Grove" Sicilian Extra Virgin Olive Oil 2023

This selection is known as both Old Grove and Nicolo’s Blend. It is a very limited edition of only 1,000 Liters from a specific grove, the best produced at the LaGurra estate eac year.

Ravida has an aroma of freshly mown hay, which some describe as herbal and grassy. It has a smooth aftertaste, indicating that it is pressed late in the season as with most Sicilian oils.

The selection is a field blend of three Sicilian olive varieties: Nocellara, a slightly fruity eating olive; Cerasuola, tasty and full-bodied and light-green; and Biancolilla, for distinctive color and fragrance. This oil is very low acidity. We especially recommend it for cooking or serving with steamed fish, smoked salmon, green salads, and grilled vegetables.

The enticing aroma brings forth freshly mown hay, notes of tomato, and some can detect notes of delicate lemon blossom. It possesses delicate bitter notes, with a long moderate pepper aftertaste, fresh and clean finish.

Harvest notes: Due to a difficult harvest in Sicily, this year's Ravida is blended with the same olives, but different percentages. Biancolilla, Cerasuola, and Nocellara del Belice.
