description

Da Vinci Code followers can travel through Italy seeking the holy grail in the form of crude – the finest extra virgin olive oils in Italy. The perfect gift—the treasure, three authentic oils from throughout Italy—packed in a gift box. This is an ideal way to taste the regional differences that make Italian olive oil so special! This edition, Verde, presents olive oils from Puglia, Lazio, and Sicily.

DeCarlo Arcamone (Puglia): The Arcamone Estate is one of the De Carlo family’s “historic” farms, and has been an organic farm since 1990. The oil is Certified DOP Terra di Bari and Certified Organic. Crafted from estate grown Coratina olives, the oil is best described as medium-intense. It is green with golden reflections. The aroma is elegant and complex, best characterized by harmonic vegetal notes of fresh grass. Serving Suggestions: this medio-intenso oil is ideal for serving with grilled vegetables, grilled porcini mushrooms, mixed pulse (legumes) soups, tomato salads, and vegetable soups. Try on fresh pasta with a simple sauce of roasted tomatoes. Flos Olei 2022 farm score (100/100).

Tamia Green (Lazio): Our friend Pietro Re made the great introduction for this olive oil, produced from Itrana olives, the famous cultivar of the Lazio region of central Italy. Tamia Green is part of the new line of high quality extra virgin olive oils conceived, studied, designed and made by Tamia with only one purpose, that of creating olive oils that are perfect to be eaten and giving the consumer a balanced olive oil that could delight the palate. Try it on a seafood salad, on pasta with tomato and basil, in white fish marinades or on fresh bread. Flos Olei 2022 farm score (95/100).

Gerbino from DiGiovanna (Sicily): From the area of Sambuca di Sicilia comes this delightful, grassy Sicilian. From the noted Sicilian wine estate, Di Giovanna in Agrigento. The entire estate of vineyards and olive trees has been certified organic, and the 11 hectares of olive trees are Biancolilla (50%) and Nocellara del Belice (50%). This unfiltered oil is produced with artisanal craftsmanship and family traditions. Perfect with salads, and especially tomatoes. Stands up well to complex flavors.
