Flos Olei 2023 (96/100)

This new selection brings light and medium fruity notes from the heel of the boot, Puglia in the area of Giovinazzo, Molfetta, and Terlizzi.

Giuseppe Ciccolella has created an amazing line of olive oils from the native olives of the region. We have selected Faresse monocultivar Ogliarola Bari, a delicate single variety extra virgin olive oil.

The family has been growing olives since 1878 and they now, with passionate work in the fields, tend 8000 trees in the region. The very modern and clean mill is a showplace of olive oil milling.

Faresse is Ciccolella’s singular Ogliarola Barese monocultivar selection.

It is notable for the sweet taste, elements of almond, light bitterness and gentle spiciness. The fragrance may tickle with notes of almond, banana, and yellow apple.

Pair with delicate fish dishes, fresh legumes, grilled vegetables (zucchini!) and salads. It is also recommended for seasoning with red sauces.

Coratina, from the master producer Salvatore Stallone, is an intensely Was $34.95. Best by December 2018.fruity oil.  The olives crushed are 100 % Coratina. Stallone's mill employs the latest technologies, and that milling provides the highest quality extra virgin olive oil with a high number of polyphenols. From the area north of Bari.
The aroma is elegant and rich, with notes of herbs, almonds, sage, herbs, artichokes and cardoon.
The taste is complex and noted for its persistence.  You'll note strong tones of bitter and pungency.
Best food pairings? This is enjoyed with red meat, beans and bean soups, and grilled green vegetables. And, of course, bread.
